April 2, 2001 To Whom It May Concern: Subject: Letter of Reference Please be advised that I have worked with David Banks as his Manager over the past year and I hold him in the highest regard. David has been an outstanding employee in many ways. Please allow me to outline a few. · David's performance has always been a step above the rest. Setting the standard of excellence in closing trouble reports at the same time he assists his team members with questions and guidance. · David found himself as the most senior technician on the night shift without supervision. He assumed the responsibilities of trainer and mentor over the group without hesitation. He is a forward thinker and constantly strives to make the best out of any situation. · David is technically astute and has the aptitude to go much further in his technical training. He was quick to learn the concepts and applications relating to DSL technology and continues to build on that knowledge. Please allow me to summarize the technical areas of expertise I have required of David. 1. Isolate and repair problems with over twelve different types of DSL modems and routers. 2. Expert knowledge of telephony, identifying problems related to POTS, ISDN, T1, and DS3 transport. 3. Resolve problems stemming from the data-link and internet protocol layers on DSL switches, multiplexors, routers, and private networks. 4. Apply all troubleshooting practices and procedures to multiple types of services, to include the ADSL, IDSL, and SDSL products. 5. High degree of competence and responsibility while responding to outages escalated to the highest levels of company management. In short, I am able to make a recommendation for David to move into areas of increased responsibility and/or technical reliance without any reservation whatsoever. Sincerely, Bradley C.
